In our data set, 26 genes distributed in 14 locations in the reference genome have, on average, 10 or more copies (i.e., they can be considered to be high copy number genes). These genes include ribosomal RNA genes, as well as genes that are annotated as single copy in the reference genome, such as Cwc22, Hjurp, and Sfi1 . The raw read-depth signal at CNVs encompassing these genes suggests that the CNV breakpoints are at approximately the same location in all individuals (Supplemental Fig. S13). To assess the accuracy of the computational inference of copy numbers based on read depth, we measured copy numbers experimentally using droplet digital PCR at 23 different genomic regions. For the majority of the validated loci, the copy numbers determined using ddPCR correlated strongly with those predicted by CNVnator and were largely concordant in most individuals (Supplemental Fig. S2).

One of the most important applications for using this pattern of technical price analysis is to identify the possibilities for changes in the direction of the price trend.
